Expertise
Four practices that share one conviction, formed over twenty years of mandates: good projects are won in preparation, and local rules decide what gets built.
Our practices
Each practice is led by partners who have spent their careers in its sector. Choose one to see the work it takes on and the people who lead it.
Energy and power
Generation projects prepared for lenders, from site to financial close. Utility-scale and commercial solar, wind, hydro and storage, for developers, investors and the utilities that buy their power. Explore energy and power
Trade
Helping governments and companies put the AfCFTA to work. Rules of origin, customs and corridor work that turn a continental agreement into new orders. Explore trade
Market entry
Where to enter, how to set up and who to partner with. Country selection, company set-up and partner searches for firms making their first or next move in Africa. Explore market entry
Public-private partnerships
Originating and structuring partnerships that lenders will fund. Concessions and availability-based contracts in energy, transport, water and social infrastructure. Explore public-private partnerships
How the practices work together
Few mandates stay inside one practice. The same partners stay with a client from the first question to the final signature.
When a European manufacturer chose Rwanda for its first East African plant, it needed a site, an investment certificate, a reliable power supply and a route to export. Our market entry team led the set-up with the Rwanda Development Board, the energy practice negotiated a captive solar supply for the factory, and the trade team confirmed which products would qualify for preferential tariffs across the East African Community and under the AfCFTA. One team, one plan and one point of contact.
